Habits of the Mind

Negative emotions and negative feelings in the subconscious mind attract toxic substances and viruses with the same frequency, leading to physical and mental disturbances.

The subconscious acts as a habit of the brain or mind, influencing our perspective on things. It plays the role of a filter when we perceive the external world. For instance, if one holds a lot of anxiety, a slight noise at night may cause alarm, or a somewhat cold expression of someone else might be misinterpreted as hostility towards oneself.

The noise at night might just be the creaking sound of the house, and the person might simply be unwell and not energetic. Yet, negative emotions in the subconscious can sometimes prevent us from seeing things as they really are.

Our words and thoughts are created through the cooperation of the left and right hemispheres of the brain, with the language areas of the brain playing a central role.

Then, the electrical signals in the brain form the basis of our thoughts, and these signal pathways are constantly changing. This is because the words and thoughts we use shape the neural pathways in the brain, with the brain cells continuously forming and breaking down these pathways.

This means that by consciously adopting desirable words and thoughts, it is possible to positively change the neural pathways and thought patterns in the brain.

People on the path to success, when faced with problems or challenges, focus on finding solutions and methods. Believing in oneself enhances self-esteem and attracts further success.

In contrast, those with a habit of negative thinking reduce their opportunities to gain new ideas or inspiration and often limit their actions. For example, thoughts like "What if...? What if it doesn't happen? It probably won't work anyway..." when starting something new.

Such thoughts are sent as electrical signals in the brain, forming neural pathways, which are strengthened over time, often leading to a reality that falls short of expectations.

The challenge is that the brain tends to conserve energy by continuing similar mental habits. We may feel that this is easier for us.

However, it is possible to consciously change our thought habits, and it is a matter of choice. It is crucial to be aware of our thought habits; if we wish to change them, have the courage to do so.

The pathways in our brain can change flexibly based on the words and thoughts we choose.
